Callum Wilson Celebrates (Reuters)
The 21st round of the Premier League opened today (Saturday) with a surprise in the form of Everton’s 2-0 home loss to Newcastle. The Topiz missed an opportunity to move up to 5th place, while the Magpies broke a streak of five league losses and 9 games without a win in the Premier League and thus moved away from the bottom.
As mentioned, the guest arrived when she was in the worst shape in the league, and after 73 fairly even minutes in which she threatened no less than the opponent towards the goal, Callum Wilson managed to score the advantage goal for her. In the 93rd minute, Wilson closed an interest with a pair that gave 3 points in Goodison Park against Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
This is the second game in a row without a win in the league for the team from Liverpool and a second loss in the last 4 rounds, but Everton are still strong in the battle for a place in Europe next season. On the other hand, Newcastle rose to 22 points and managed at a good time to get away from the dangerous area a bit.
