Study: A common cure for effective asthma for corona

Good news in the Corona war: A study at the prestigious Oxford University in the UK shows that a common asthma cure can significantly reduce the number of patients in need of hospitalization or medical supervision.

The drug, an asthma treatment that comes with an inhaler, is called “Polmicort” and is manufactured by the company Asterit Hazanika, and has been found to be effective in reducing the number of patients among Corona patients by 90%. The study was performed on a group of 146 patients in Corona and preliminary results show that the patients who received the drug showed fewer symptoms and suffered much less from high fever.

“I am very pleased that a safe, effective, very common drug that has undergone extensive research shows such a large impact on corona patients and could play a role in lowering the stress that hospitals experience during the epidemic,” said Mona Padel, a senior researcher on the research team.

Polymacort was once considered a groundbreaking treatment and was sold in large quantities in the UK and Europe, until it was replaced by a newer generation of asthma called Symbicort. The results of the university’s research have not yet been published in a research magazine and have not been peer-reviewed, but the university expects to continue to advance with the research and publish significant results soon.
