And yes, I’ve made mistakes – I went through a stage where I hated taking pictures with people, and I was like, “No, no, no, leave me alone!” She taught me a lot, she was like, “Maybe that would put more pressure on you than saying yes and being nice about it.” She was so right. It’s been made a much smoother process. Having her as a friend has been so valuable to the success and happiness of my career and my life.

Holland ‘s comments speak to the different experiences in the entertainment industry that Zendaya has had. The actress began her career as a children’s model and backing dancer before gaining more attention thanks to her role as Rocky Blue on the Disney series Shake It Up. With the intense fandom that the Disney series awakens from its audience, as can the likes of Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus in attendance, Zendaya was much more accustomed to dealing with celebrities out there.
