Son of the Wood developer Endnight Games has released a new trailer for the upcoming video game sequel that shows off a bunch of new gameplay as well as confirming the release window. As of right now, the sequel to The Forest ready for release next year, 2021. The video game was first announced at The Game Awards 2019, but of course the developer has been silent for 2020. So far.
The Forest, if you are not familiar with it somehow, in fact it is an open world, first person survival horror video game. Son of the Wood it seems to be very similar in structure, if not content. The basic premise of the title was to build a base and explore during the day to defend that foundation overnight either alone or with other players. As the trailer takes the sequel to become familiar with this, it seems that the horror has been reaffirmed.

Son of the Wood is expected, as stated above, to launch in 2021. As for when next year, that is anyone ‘s estimate. Platforms weren’t specifically named for the upcoming sequel, but with that The Forest launched for both PC and PlayStation 4, it seems like a good bet that it could end up on at least both of those platforms.
