Owners of some old Apple TVs will soon have to rely on AirPlie if they want to watch YouTube content on their devices.

Starting early next month, third-generation Apple TVs will no longer support the YouTube app, a YouTube spokesperson confirmed to Gizmodo. Users with these tools will still be able to view some YouTube content, but will have to throw it away from another device instead of accessing it directly from their set top box. 9to5Mac earlier recitation call support.

“We are always working to ensure that our users have the best possible experience on YouTube, and from time to time we need to make changes to our list of supported devices,” a YouTube spokesperson told Gizmodo in an email statement. “Starting in early March, the YouTube app will no longer be available on 3rd generation Apple TV devices. ”

The change does not affect new generations of Apple TV box. Stream with Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD will still be able to access the YouTube app natively, as will iPhone and iPad owners. Following the change, Apple TV owners who own iOS devices will also be able to stream YouTube content by streaming it via AirPcompatible with any third generation Apple TV.

Hopefully the rumor is the next generation Apple TV helps reduce the cost of some of the latest models so upgrades are a bit cheaper. Another thing, it’s time to get comfortable with AirPlaigh.
