AUSTIN, Texas – There is one pool game that feels a little less random than the others at WGC-Dell Technologies Game Play.
“It’s going to be interesting, I don’t think so [grouping] a disaster, ”Ryan Palmer laughed Tuesday at Austin Country Club.
Palmer is in the same pod as Jon Rahm’s No. 3 world, with whom he teamed up to win the 2019 Zurich Classic. The pair are expected to play on Day 3 to find out who from the group will advance to the weekend.
“We are all close friends, we are playing Zurich again, but it will be interesting to see where we both stand on Friday,” Palmer said. “It could mean something or not, we don’t know. It’s a game I know I have to be good at to beat. ”

Palmer said Rahm has no weaknesses in his game, but he learned in ’19 in New Orleans that it is the Spaniard’s short game that makes him against such a dangerous game-play.
“It will never be out of the hole. Maybe his short game at the top 3 is easy. Playing with him in New Orleans I saw just how good his moon game is, the scenery around the green, ”said Palmer. “He’s upset on the golf course but he’s quick to come back from it. He wears it on the seam, but that’s what makes it so good. ”
