“Significant Moment”: First coach in an NBA game

Beginning of an article

Not a small history was recorded tonight (Wednesday to Thursday) in the NBA, when for the first time ever a woman stood on the lines as a head coach in a game in the best league in the world. This is Becky the Trust, Greg Popovich’s assistant in San Antonio, who replaced him after he was sent off in a game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The game ended in a loss to the Spurs, 121: 107, when Popovic got upset about the refereeing already in the second quarter and was sent off. The trust referred to history under the strange circumstances: “He pointed at me and told me You got it (it’s yours) … it’s a big deal, a significant moment.”

In this game there was also one huge star who reached another milestone – LeBron James. He finished with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists, and mostly will be reminded that he scored in the double digits for the 1000th time in a row, and he obviously moves away from the top of that category (Michael Jordan is second with 866 consecutive games like that).

Oh, and he did it on his 36th birthday. He has already played 8 times in the past on his birthday and all these times he has finished as the leading scorer of his team. No other player in history has reached such a figure.
