Memphis breathes a sigh of relief. Less than 24 hours after the moments of penetration seen at Barclays Center, when Ja Morant groaned in ankle pain and came off the field in a wheelchair, the Grizzlies announced that their star was suffering from dislocation only and would be out for 3-5 weeks.

During the big win over Brooklyn, ahead of last season’s rookie half-time break Timothy tried to block Wow Cabaret but landed badly on the Nets player’s foot, and immediately felt intense pain in his left ankle that prevented him from stepping on the leg. Morant underwent all the necessary tests, and to Memphis’ delight the MRI confirmed that the injury was not as serious as it seemed at first glance.

At least personally, Morant has had an excellent start to his second season in the NBA. In the first game against San Antonio he bombed 44 points and 9 assists, and against Atlanta he finished with 28 points and 7 assists. Until the injury against the Hunts, he had 7 points and thus became the third player with the most points in his first three games of the season in Memphis history.
