During the month of July last year, against the background of a previous disturbance in the couple’s relationship, Raz left their shared home. After about three weeks, he returned home by a joint decision of the two.
The indictment states that on the morning of Friday, February 5, a verbal argument broke out between the couple following Diana’s suspicion that her husband was cheating on her. During the argument, Diana poured a lukewarm cup of coffee on Amir. At this point, the defendant went up to his and his wife’s bedroom to change his clothes. So, he took out his Glock personal gun from the safe in the closet, and put it in a dedicated holster that was on his waist.
After that, the argument between the couple continued, during which the defendant left the house and shortly afterwards Diana also left the house. When the two returned to the house, the argument rekindled. At this point, Raz’s decision to kill Deadbee was in her heart. To do this, Raz took out an 8.20-meter-long rope, called his three older children, sat them on small chairs in the living room and tied them up, while the baby sat in a dining chair next to them. Next, Raz picked up a kitchen knife with a 20-inch-pointed blade, and placed it on the dining room table.
When Diana noticed her children tied to chairs, she got angry and shouted at Raz to explain his actions. In response, he began to hit her in front of the children, grabbed her by the shirt in the neck area with both hands, pulled her towards the front door, and next to her he pressed his hand to her neck and strangled her tightly. During the fight, Diana shouted at her 7-year-old daughter to call a neighbor for help.
Upon hearing her mother’s cries, the girl managed to free herself from the tying. She tried to reach the stairs in order Reaching the neighbor to help her mother, but Raz pulled his daughter tightly in her hand, knocked her down the stairs and caused her injuries.
Diana, fearing for her life, tried to open the door of the house in order to escape, but the defendant prevented her from doing so, closed the door, took the knife from the table and stabbed her twice in the thigh. Diana continued to wrestle a faucet, tried to take the knife from him, and at this point he pulled his gun out of its holster. In front of their four children, while Diana begged for her life, he fired a bullet at which one of them greeted – and then fired at Diana’s head.
He then called his mother and his police chief and asked them to come to his house soon. Only about an hour and a half after the shooting, when the defendant’s commander arrived at the house, did he call Hotline 100 and report the incident.
The prosecution will summarize the case and determine the final charges, and will also ask the court to extend Raz’s detention until the end of the legal proceedings against him.
Even in his first interrogation, before his first detention extension, Raz claimed that he did not remember what happened and that he was “in blackout” and that he did not know why he shot her. However, he confirmed that the two were arguing with each other, a version that was also supported by the testimony of the couple’s seven-year-old daughter, who mentioned to a relative that she heard her parents arguing – and then heard gunshots.
In his previous detention extension, police announced that Raz had undergone an initial psychiatric examination in which he was found fit for detention. However, it is not inconceivable that the defense will request an in-depth examination later on.
