Rabbi Israel Yitzchak Kenner, a resident of the Hadar Ganim neighborhood in Petah Tikva and a member of the Hebron community in the city, died in Corona at the age of 72.

Two weeks ago, the deceased began to feel unwell, an examination he conducted revealed that he was infected with the virus and in the days that have passed since his condition deteriorated, until his departure at noon (Wednesday) at the hospital.

Rabbi Yisrael was born to his father, the late Rabbi Yaakov, rabbi of the Torat Emet synagogue in Haifa, and his pedigree goes back to Rabbi Metschoib, the Admor Rabbi Avraham Halevi Kenner ZIA.

When he reached his age, he married the daughter of the late Rabbi Yisrael Meir Zalmanovich from the city of Rehovot, and established his residence in Kiryat Ata, where he spent most of his years, and prayed in the Heichal Shlomo Synagogue (PAI).

A few years ago, he moved to Petah Tikva, next to his children, where everyone knew him as a man who knew a book and as a reciprocal benefactor, until about two weeks ago he contracted the virus, which he did not survive.

At his death, the late Rabbi Yaakov Kenner left behind his wife Sarah, his children and sons-in-law, grandchildren and descendants who walk the path of the Torah. His funeral will take place in the evening, in the city of Petah Tikva.
