Shiomi’s next Mi Mix device will come with a camera that mimics the human eye

Through a teaser published by the company on the Chinese social network Weibo, Shiomi reveals to us that she intends to hold an announcement event On 29.3 In it, it will unveil a new device for the Mi Mix series. As is well known, the Mix series is the company’s innovation series, to which it releases devices that bring more advanced technologies than usual, such as the end-to-end screen in the first model, and the screen that surrounds the device in the latest model (Mi Mix Alpha).

The next device in the series is expected to come with a photo array that mimics the action of the human eye, thus offering much faster focus performance than regular cameras and allowing the use of a single lens for both macro photography and optical zoom. While using it to mimic the action of the human eye, Shiomi comes to tell us that she is actually switching to using a “liquid lens” that incorporates a liquid wrapped in a thin layer that is able to move within it and change its shape depending on the required condition.

The liquid mentioned is characterized by an extremely high light transmission capacity, along with a low amount of scattering and resistance to extreme weather conditions. All of these features are there to ensure us long-term durability and reliability so that we can be sure to use the camera after several years of using the device. This technology is claimed by Shiomi, which it developed itself, and it allows the liquid lens to change shape according to the user’s requirement in photography.

In the field, the change should also reduce distortions when shooting at a wide angle even before the final image is displayed, which will save you a lot of time correcting distortions after it has been taken. However, we still do not know for sure whether this is a change that will change the rules of the game or a new gimmick that will give the device only a slight advantage over its competitors.
