The chairman of the Football Association, Oren Hasson, announced yesterday (Thursday) at the board meeting that the new CEO, Yossi Sharabi, will start his job on April 15. But an examination done by a number of board members shows that Sharabi has not completed his cooling-off period, and cannot take up the post at this stage.
Sharabi, who served as director general of the Ministry of Sports, is obligated according to the instructions of senior public service officials during a cooling-off period of one year.
The association hopes that Sheila Jose, who has been appointed technical director, will not make a different decision about how he will work and will continue with Willy Rotensteiner’s plan presented to him during the zoom interview. “Why do we have to pay the national team coach more than the technical director? Where is there such a thing in the world,” Moran Meiri said at a board meeting.
Jose, who believes in a 4: 3: 3 formation, will have to align with Rotensteiner’s three-brake system. The Dutchman will arrive in Israel in May after finishing his job at Utrecht, and when he lands he will meet with the national team coach for a job call and coordination of expectations.
