Sevilla players celebrate (La Liga)
Sevilla continued to look great tonight as well (Wednesday), beating Valencia Bramon Sanchez Pijuan 0-3 on their way to the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey with a one-sided football display. The Bats continued their nightmarish season and finished their way to the Cup in disgrace. In another game, Almeria in the minor leagues ousted Ossona in a penalty shootout.
Yolan Loftgi’s team made a fantastic blitz in the first half, when Luc de Jong allowed in the 20th minute and later made sure to double the result in the 33rd minute from his horse’s cooking. Just five minutes later, Ivan Rakitić closed out an interest on the way to a dream half.
In the second half, the pace naturally slowed down and Sevilla made quite a few substitutions because the Bats were just mentally exhausted and failed to record a comeback. Valencia from 14th place in La Liga hope to recover and not be even below the red line in the near future.
