“Serious Defensive Problem”: Summary of the Hunts’ loss

Beginning of an article

The debut game of Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn looked exactly as we expected, just without the part of the win at the end. Once they pulled the trigger on the big apple and landed the man and the old man, some quick conclusions could be drawn: the Nets would have a historic talent on the offensive side, and in the same breath due to their Achilles would be the bench and defense.

Tonight (Wednesday to Thursday), all the conclusions we reached last week were revived on the parquet. Brooklyn opened the game with 10 of 10 from the field, Kyrie scored 8 of 10 from the field in the first half and the entire trio of stars finished the game with 96 points in common in 49% of the field. They also handed out 23 assists in total (out of the team’s 30).

But as we predicted, the Nets finished the game with just 10 points off the bench and allowed Cleveland to score 147 points. Cleveland, in case you were wondering, is the second worst offensive team this season in the NBA, averaging 102.9 points. Between Friday and Saturday the two groups will meet once again.

“Brooklyn could have a serious problem in defense,” they analyzed on the American website CBS. “One would have expected her defense to be pretty weak, because none of the Big 3 is a defensive player by definition. Sometimes the Cubs scored too easily without doing something too sophisticated.”

Despite Brooklyn’s alarming ability on defense, the U.S. are confident that in most games the offense will suffice: “In a large number of cases the Nets’ firepower will make a difference, so defense will have no meaning. When Durant, Harden and Kyrie were on the floor their attack was ongoing and they seemed unstoppable. “Brooklyn may have the greatest offensive talent ever.”

The “Sporting News” website was not thrilled with the loss: “Colin Sexton put on a once-a-season game, had it not been for his performance Brooklyn would have won. The very fact that Kyrie is back should give Nets hope for the rest of the season.” At the end of the game Kyrie He said at the press conference: “I am excited for the future.”
