Today Apple shared a teaser for the second season of Apple TV’s popular comedy + “Mythic Quest,” which is set to debut on Friday, May 7th.
“Mythic Quest,” along with shows such as “The Morning Show,” “Dickinson,” “See,” and “For All Mankind,” was one of the first series available on Apple TV + .
The show follows a team of video game developers overcoming the challenges involved in running a popular online multiplayer multiplayer game similar to World of Warcraft. The series was created by Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day, best known for their work on the long series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”
McElhenney will play Grimm, the studio’s creative director, with David Hornsby playing as executive producer David Brittlesbee and Charlotte Nicdao playing Poppy Li’s chief engineer. Danny Pudi and F. Murray Abraham will also be in the show.
Season 2 of “Mythic Quest” will focus on the team’s efforts to create a new expansion for the game, building on the “Raven’s Banquet” expansion that appeared in the first season.
With quarantine over, season two of Mythic Quest finds everyone back in the office (well, almost everyone), trying to build on the success of Raven’s Banquet. with the launch of a major new expansion, but Ian (Rob McElhenney) and newly-inspired co-creative director Poppy (Charlotte Nicdao) struggle to lead the game. Meanwhile, CW (F. Murray Abraham) resolves some unresolved issues from the past, the testers (Ashly Burch and Imani Hakim) test the boundaries of office romance, and David (David Hornsby) loses another woman in his life as Jo (Jessie Ennis) leaves him to support Brad (Danny Pudi).
While the first season was titled “Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet,” the Raven’s Banquet part of the title has been dropped for the second season. Along with “Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet,” the show’s team also appeared in a one-off program “Mythic Quest: Quarantine” which received rave reviews last spring.
