Season 2 of ‘For All Mankind’ Now Available on Apple TV +

The second season of the popular Apple TV + series “For All Mankind” was launched today, with the first program now available on all devices where the Apple TV app or access nets available.

Developed and written by Ronald D. Moore, “For All Mankind” is a science fiction series that imagines what the world would be like if the global space race had not ended and the space program has been a priority in the United States.

Season two of “For All Mankind” kicks off in 1983, a leap of ten years after the first season. It is the height of the cold war, with the US and USSR fighting over the resources available on the moon.

Season two of space drama picks up a decade later in 1983. The Cold War is at its height and tensions between the United States and the USSR are at their highest. Ronald Reagan is president and the ambitions of science and space exploration are in danger of being undermined as the U.S. and Soviets go head-to-head to take control of rich sites in facilities on the moon. The Department of Defense has moved into Mission Control, and NASA’s militarization is growing at the heart of the stories of several characters: some fight it, some use it as an opportunity to advance their own interests, and some find themselves at the height of a conflict that could lead to nuclear war.

Prior to the launch of the second season of “For All Mankind,” Apple released a special enhanced reality app “Time Capsule” that allowed users to retrieve memories from “For All Mankind” astronauts Gordo and Tracy Stevens in the ten years between season one and season two.

Join Danny, the son of teenage astronauts Gordo & Tracy Stevens, as he explores an interactive archive full of details about the life, love, and world of For All Mankind. It all tells a story: a simple mixtape reveals how young love first began. A home computer holds the mysteries to the changing lives of teenagers. And things as typical as a newspaper and an answering machine shed light on influential events in the lives of Gordo and Tracy Stevens, revealing more about the other world of For All Mankind and what’s to come in season 2.

Apple also this week launched “For All Mankind: The Official Podcast,” which will consider the series as season two progresses. Hosted by Krys Marshall, who plays Commander Danielle Poole, the podcast will feature space experts, astronauts, and creators and creators of “For All Mankind.”

“For All Mankind” stars Joel Kinnaman, Michael Dorman, Wrenn Schmidt, Shantel VanSanten, Sarah Jones, and Jodi Balfour.
