Samuel L. Jackson to star in upcoming Apple TV + series ‘The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray’

Samuel L. Jackson will play the lead role in an upcoming six-episode Apple TV + series based on Walter Moseley’s novel “The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray.”

Jackson appears as Ptolemy Gray, a 91-year-old man suffering from dementia. Ptolemy gets a chance to regain his memories in a short time and chooses the time he left to resolve the death of his nephew.

according to Various, Moseley changes the book for the screen. He and Jackson will be producing the series, along with David Levine and Eli Selden of Anonymous Content and Diane Houslin. Apple Studios makes the series.

Mosley has written dozens of books, some of which have been adapted for television and film, including the noir mystery thrush “Devil in a Blue Dress” and the FX crime drama “Snowfall.”

The series marks the second Apple TV + production that Jackson has starred in. He was previously featured in the feature film, “The Banker,” in which he starred as an African American entrepreneur working to overcome the ethnic boundaries of the 1960s.
