Looks like Samsung isn’t done making smartphones tight. The company, which launched their Galaxy XCover 4 handset back in 2017, is now ready for its successor to launch the Galaxy XCover 5 this year. While no confirmation comes from the South Korean tech giant, a report from Winfuture has revealed the design of the upcoming handset along with some specifications.
According to the report, the XCover 5 is said to be a compact device that will have a removable battery. It is said to be a 3,000mAh battery with a charge of 15W. The smartphone may be powered by the midrange Exynos 850 processor along with 4 GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage, which can be expanded using a micro SD card.
There may be a few other changes based on different RAM and storage sizes. However, we do not know the details of those yet.

The Galaxy XCover 5 is said to pack a 5.3-inch screen, which will outperform its iOS competitor, iPhone 12 Mini, which has a screen size of 5.4-inches. But a different audience at the XCover is considering making it for rugged use. The Android phone is said to have a 1480×720 display resolution along with a 16: 9 aspect ratio and a Gorilla Glass 6 cover.
According to the bidders, thick bezels on the top and bottom, along with a rough side, protect the machine. At the back, you can see one camera surrounded by a Red ring. This is expected to feature a 16-megapixel sensor along with two LEDs, and a 5-megapixel shooter at the front.
The Galaxy XCover 5 is also expected to get the IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating along with 810G MIL-STD certification for durability. As mentioned in the report, the smartphone’s connectivity options could include Bluetooth 5.0, support for 5GHz Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Although no one can see a fingerprint scanner on the phone, the device is expected to have a facelift solution. According to Winfuture, the upcoming Galaxy XCover 5 may be priced between EUR 289 and EUR 299. And for the announcement, the device is expected to see the light of day later this month.
