Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 With QLED Display, Stylus Support Launched: Price, Specifications

Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 was unveiled for CES 2021 as a Galaxy Chromebook fan last year. The new model has a QLED display that comes as a special update over the AMOLED screen available on the preview. The Galaxy Chromebook 2 also comes with thinner bezels. Samsung retained the 2-in-1 form factor and has offered support for the Universal Stylus Initiative (USI) pen on the new Chromebook. Further, the Galaxy Chromebook 2 comes in two unique color options to choose from and has the 10th generation Intel Celeron and Intel Core i3 versions, and it has also dropped the price significantly.

Price of Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2

The price of Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 starts at $ 549.99 (around Rs. 40,300), as reported by The Verge. Prices are significantly lower than the Galaxy Chromebook which dropped at $ 999.99 (around Rs. 73,300). The Galaxy Chromebook 2 comes in Fiesta Red and Mercury Gray color options.

Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 features a 13.3-inch full-HD (1,920×1,080 pixels) QLED display with touch support. It is powered by either an Intel Celeron 5205U or a 10-generation Intel Core i3-10110U processor, powered by Intel UHD Graphics and up to 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The Chromebook comes in 64GB and 128GB storage options – along with expandable support via a microSD card.

Samsung has provided 5W stereo speakers along with Smart AMP audio that is touched to produce audio output up to 178 percent higher than the average amplifier. There is also support for a style that can have up to 4,096 degrees of weight sensitivity.

The Galaxy Chromebook 2 features an HD (720p) webcam. It also has a latlit, backlit keyboard. Further, the Chromebook comes with a 45.5WHr battery.

Connection options on the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 include two Type-C USB ports, a headphone / microphone combo jack, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth v5.0. It runs on Google Google Chrome with Google Play store access.

The Chromebook measures 304.9×203.2×13.9mm and weighs 1.23 kilograms. This is not as slippery or lightweight when compared to the first generation Galaxy Chromebook which was 9.9mm thick and 1.04 kilograms in weight. Nevertheless, the cheaper price and the presence of a QLED display make the new model just as robust.
