Saddiq Bey empowers Pistons to win behind hot firing performance

Saddiq Bey scored 28 points and 12 points at team level Wednesday for his third double career to lead the Detroit Pistons to a 116-112 victory over the Toronto Raptors.

Bey finished with an 8-of-14 shot from the field, taking a 6-of-10 from a 3-point range, in nearly 39 minutes of work. He now has three games this season with at least six 3-pointers, joining Allan Houston as the only other Pokons rookie to have reached that mark.

In addition to his hot shot, the 19th overall selection led to his second game of the season with at least 25 points, 10 rebounds and five 3-pointers. Bey was the only rookie in Pistons licensing history to reach those numbers twice, according to StatMuse.

Bey continued his strong performance from outside the arc this season. He leads all rookies in a total of 3-pointers, while his 85 of the season is tied with Donovan Mitchell for the fourth-largest period during the first 38 games of a career.

The 21-year-old this season has emerged as one of the top spies to date and it can be argued that he is one of the biggest guides of the draft. The Pistons have built a solid foundation, led by Bey and several other rockets, and the future looks bright.
