Rust Console Edition arrives last May, but there is another side

Survival game Rust historically, it was only available to PC gamers, but that is ultimately changing. The team behind the game is named Rust Console Edition, meaning PlayStation and Xbox owners will be able to access the ultimate sport. Downside? Only the Xbox One and PS4 will be supported at launch.

The team behind him Rust notes that the Console Edition is ‘based’ on the PC game, but that there are necessary changes that lead to a completely unique and unique token player experience. ‘The game needs to be optimized to run on the minimum hardware that consoles offer, for example.

The Double 11 team explained in a blog post:

To make the game stand out on those systems, some lightweight tips won’t cut it! So the team had to tear apart and rewrite the main engine subsystems within Unity. Some of the systems we designed and updated helped us a lot, improving the performance of the game across consoles.

The team also had to work to reduce the loading time of the game from 45 minutes to a more tolerable one minute schedule. Three years of work has gone into the token port and the result, according to Double 11, is a game with which we could not be happier with the results. ‘

Rust Console Edition players can expect regular updates to the port, including the addition of new content over time. However, the console version will have its own update roadmap separate from the PC game. The game is available for preorder now and will be released on May 21st.
