Russia is confirming the first case of human infection with H5N8 strains of avian influenza

Scientists from the Russian research center Vector have confirmed the first case of human infections with the H5N8 strain of the influenza A virus, which causes avian flu, said the head of consumer rights protection group Rostpotrebnadzor.

“I want to report an important scientific discovery by scientists from the research center Vector Rospotrebnadzor. The first case of human infection with H5N8 strain of the Avian flu virus in the Russian Federation has been confirmed in work- blade, “said Anna Popova, in a broadcast on a Russia-24 broadcaster.

Scientists have separated the genetic material of this flu into seven workers at a chicken farm in southern Russia, where a revolution among chickens was recorded in December.

“The seven people I mentioned feel OK, they only had mild clinical symptoms,” Popova assured.
