Routine thing: The history of thefts in Paris

Beginning of an article

While his teammates were busy losing more points, Angel Di Maria last night (Sunday) experienced one of the greatest moments of anxiety a football player can experience. During PSG’s game against Nantes, the Argentine was called to the bench by Mauricio Pochettino – who accompanied him to the locker room and told him that thieves had attacked his house while his family was inside. And unfortunately, this is not the first time the French champion player has fallen victim to a robbery.

Icardi
On January 30, when PSG went to an innocent league game against Lorraine, thieves broke into the striker’s home and looted loot worth 400,000 euros. They took jewelry, watches, clothes and what not. “They realized it was a theft after seeing objects that were uprooted or gone missing,” Bellakip wrote at the time.

Sergio Rico
A few days before Icardi’s case, on January 22, the Spanish goalkeeper was also a victim of the bandits. In his case, jewelry, watches and other valuables worth 25,000 euros were stolen from the house where he lives.

Marcinius
The Brazilian defender, who fell victim to the night next to Di Maria and was even informed that his parents were physically assaulted, the issue of theft is not new. On January 12, 2020, a little over a year ago during a PSG game against Monaco in the Parc de France, four men tried to raid his home in a town called La Vazina in France. In that case, the thieves were unable to break into the house as the security guard quickly informed the police.

Dani Alves
In February 2019, during a PSG game against Montpellier in the league, the home of defender Banye-Sir-San on the outskirts of Paris was broken into and looted. Reports at the time revealed that the robbers broke through the second-floor window that remained open and took watches worth 10,000 euros. The person who informed the police was a security team from PSG.

Lavin Kurzawa
In this case, the French defender managed to avoid the robbery thanks to his neighbors, who quickly intervened when they noticed something strange and frightened the thieves. It happened in March 2019, when four men tried to enter his house while he was traveling with his group. In another case, while staying at a local bar, criminals tried to blackmail Kurzawa with a video in which he tells rude jokes about a determined French coach, Dadia Deschamps. He called police and five suspects were arrested.

Eric Chopo Moting
The striker was twice informed of an attempt to rob his home. The first time occurred on 28 November 2018, while PSG were playing against Liverpool in the Champions League. The second time occurred just a month later, on December 24th. In all, 600,000 euros worth of loot was looted from Chopo Moting’s home.

Tiago Silva
Like the others, the brake was also robbed – but unlike them, the amount was much higher. On 22 December 2018, during a Paris match against the same Nantes at the Parc des France, robbers stole a safe from Silva’s house with jewelery and watches worth 1.5 million euros.
