Willy Rotensteiner (Radad Jabara)
Willy Rotensteiner is due to appoint an assistant coach for the Israeli national team by the end of the week, and ONE has learned that the same professional is actually following the national team players and helping him prepare for the upcoming campaign. The appointment of an assistant from Austria came after Aliniv Barda and Yossi Benayoun rejected Rotensteiner’s offers and Alon Hazan decided to move to coach the young team, after rejecting, for personal reasons, an offer to be the team’s technical director.
Goalkeeping coach Klaus Lindenberg will also continue in the next campaign and will follow the potential goalkeepers – Ariel Harush, Ofir Marciano and Itamar Nitzan. At the same time, the person who is expected to be appointed technical director is the Dutchman Yela Hos. The 50-year-old foreign professional was at the end of the previous millennium the technical director of the Dutch youth teams and from 2004-2007 was the coach of the Estonian national team. He then coached the CSKA Moscow youth team, was the technical director of PSV Eindhoven and Angie Makhalka and in 2013 was appointed for a second term as the technical director of the young teams in the Netherlands. Since 2017 he has held a senior position in the youth department of Utrecht.
Although the association stated that they had appointed an Israeli professional to the position of technical director, they did not keep their promise, and after Benyon refused, they again went for the option of a foreigner. In fact, the association kicked their own bucket – brought in Willy as technical manager and told him to concentrate on this job, but eventually he became a coach and the association was left with a hole and again had to bring in a foreign professional, who had to start learning everything from scratch.
In the association as usual, statements separately and deeds separately, and now in fact the entire professional guard will be composed of foreign professionals. The association also checked on Richard Allen, but Jose is the leading candidate for the position, who is currently unmanned. Rotensteiner remains the strongest professional figure in the national team, but currently has no technical director.
