All this along with restoration, restoration and preservation work of the ancient fortress from the Crusader period, which adorns the top of the hill in the heart of the national park and combines a spectacular view of the entire area – both to the nearby Nahal Shilo Nature Reserve and Gush Dan cities.
As part of the ecological restoration based on the quarries that operated on the site, three winter pools were also built on an area of about 80 dunams. These ponds have been filled with rainwater throughout the last winter seasons, making it home to the aquatic habitat typical of aquatic habitats, which are disappearing from the landscapes of the country and the world.
