Rory McIlroy supported Justin Thomas to learn from his mistake in Hawaii
Roddy McIlroy has backed his friend Justin Thomas to be “true to his word” in becoming a better man after the series over his homophobic slur last week.
Thomas drew widespread criticism during this year’s opening event in Hawaii, when his offensive statement was picked up with a green microphone on the third round of the Sentry Champions Tournament.
The No. 3 world made no apologies for what he did in his apologies after his third and final finals, finishing just a bullet out of a playoff for the title, managing a 66-second shot. despite being drawn by day three controversy.
Thomas vowed to learn from his mistake and be a better man, although his apologies were not enough to prevent clothing sponsors, Ralph Lauren, from ending their partnership with the America.

“I’ve gotten to know Justin well and he’s so good at coming. He’s got a lot of integrity, a lot of character. He certainly doesn’t do what he said better, but I think with this day and age, it ‘s hard because it looks like you can no longer make a mistake, any mistake will be jumped on.
