Tariq Black was one of the most prominent players in Maccabi Tel Aviv during his time in the yellow uniform, but then came an injury and also a “Corona break” – and the American forward left. Now, according to a report in Europe, Black is on his way back to the Euroleague.
Ex-Maccabi Tel Aviv is on the verge of signing at Zenit St. Petersburg, who only two weeks ago defeated the Yellows at the Yad Eliyahu Hall. The Russian team is one of the surprises so far this season in the Euroleague, ranking fourth in the table with a balance of 11 wins against five losses.
Black was part of Maccabi Tel Aviv for two seasons. This past season he averaged 9.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 11 games in the Euroleague. Zenith is expected to be the second stop in his European career, having previously played four years in the NBA in the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets uniforms.
Tarik Black is very close to signing with Zenit St. Petersburg, per sources.
