UC San Diego Professor of Epidemiology Andrea LaCroix said the dramatic decline in revolution reflects people listening to the stay-at-home order and limited trips to local businesses.

“According to state data they concluded that the movement of people, the movement of people they track using anonymous data from our cell phones, showed a 40 per cent reduction in community movement in the United States. everywhere, ”said LaCroix.

Lt. Shawn Takeuchi of the San Diego Police Department said law enforcement officers will follow up complaints regarding COVID-19 protocols received through the mayor’s office, the county or directly to their department.

He confirmed that most businesses adhere to COVID-19 restrictions.

“Every time there is a change in what the public needs to adhere to, what we do as a region is we go out and make sure people understand or understand educated about the change in the law and the requirements that exist ”Takeuchi said. “If compliance was not sought after education, we had to enforce it as a tool in the form of a lead. ”

While many restaurant owners raised their complaints about the latest lock-in order, LaCroix said the virus will continue to spread without strict stay-at-home orders.

“If we agreed to a three-week stay at home order, and a three-week stay at home – including keeping the necessary staff at home except health care and grocers – we would get rid of this pandemic in three weeks, ”she said.

Over the course of the pandemic, San Diego County has identified more than 1,100 community outbreaks. These incidents resulted in approximately three percent of all county cases and one percent of county deaths.
