Report: Apple TV will become a gaming console

The next battle? Apple does not release a new version of Apple TV, streaming its media, every year as it does with its other products. But according to a report published last night (Thursday) in Bloomberg, the company may introduce the next generation as early as next year – but will focus on improving the hardware for games and launch a new sign.

According to a report by the news agency, brought by Mark Gorman (he has a successful record of leaks that dealt with Apple), the technology giant is expected to incorporate a new and much more advanced processor in the device than we know today, in order to allow it to run heavy games.

At the same time, it is not clear if this is a new product that will be launched alongside the existing streamers, since in order to turn the Apple TV into a gaming console that will compete with the PlayStation and Xbox, Apple will require to significantly increase the device’s dimensions.

In addition, it is unclear whether the new remote will have a design similar to Sony’s and Microsoft’s game controller, or whether the company will sell one separately.

As you may recall, the company first announced its gaming service, Apple Arcade, in early 2019. The platform allows users for a fixed monthly fee to play games in its various products – iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. You can also find exclusive games that are updated regularly, without commercials.
