Refugee Protestants expelled from Australia’s open final

Playing came to a halt during the Australian Open singles final last night when two spectators were kicked out of Rod Laver Arena for protest.

With Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev going back in the fourth and exchanging hits, they were stopped short half way through the second set when two fans started to descend from their sets.

Scanning Rod Laver’s Arena in an attempt to find the source of the cloud, it wasn’t long before both Djokovic and Medvedev figured out who was to blame.

Play was finally restarted when the two spectators were taken off with stadium security to a boos siege.

Live televised coverage of the game missed the fans being overwhelmed and only managed to capture the umpire comments of the chairman and the two players.

But it wasn’t long before photos of the incident surfaced on social media with users confirming that these people were complaining about refugees.

Age journalist Daniel Cherny tweeted: “The prosecutor at tennis said ‘free the refugees’.”

Even throughout the game, spectators seemed confused when they couldn’t work out why the play had stopped.

“Novak could do nothing about that,” Jim Courier said in the comment box.

“He put the ball high in the air mid-rally to say we had to stop playing when the guy wasn’t going to stop talking.”

And when video of the protesters marching out of the field spread like wildfire online, it was only a matter of time before tennis fans entered.

One social media user tweeted: “What on earth are they doing? Get rid of them.”

Another said: “We have a bag of nuts in the crowd.”

With one saying simply: “What a true cause of the people.”
