Tilg West Indies choose bat v Bangladesh

West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite chose to bat in the second Test in Dhaka against Bangladesh at Mominul Haque, with the visitors looking at the impact of their seal series after winning the first Test by ran 395 in the fourth innings. They made one similar change with Alzarri Joseph replacing Kemar Roach.

Bangladesh, which is looking to avoid a loss in a home test series (two games or more) from losing to Sri Lanka in 2017-18, has made three changes, with two of them forced.

Shakib Al Hasan and Shadman Islam were replaced by Mohammad Mithun and Soumya Sarkar – with the latter open – while left-arm sailor Mustafizur Rahman was lowered for Abu Jayed in the right arm. Rahman had only taken two wickets in the first Test in Chattogram.

The throw could play a big part since cracks were observed on the pitch even before delivery took place at the Shere Bangla National Stadium. Brathwaite said at the toss that the pitch looked dry and wanted his side to improve first-innings battery performance. Haque said he wanted bats first too.
