Jimmy Neesham and Mitchell Santner claimed two wickie apiece as New Zealand had the upper hand

Bangladesh 131 (Boult 4-27) v New Zealand

Bangladesh staged a limp batting display in the opening ODI as the New Zealand invasion took great advantage of the conditions. Trent Boult set the tone and finished with a four-wicket draw as all the mattresses played their part, Jimmy Neesham and Mitchell Santner bidding for a quick brace apiece.

Only Madmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim went past 20 for Bangladesh as the line was challenged with the extra kick available from the University ‘s Oval top. As a sign of New Zealand’s grip with the ball, there were only eight boundaries (plus three six) as they were folded out with eight wickets left when Boult claimed for both wickets. finally in three balls.

This was New Zealand’s first ODI in a year and just their fourth since the 2019 World Cup final. They named three editors – the first time they had taken much. since 2012 – with Devon Conway, Will Young and Daryl Mitchell joining the sidelines. Bangladesh handed first ODI cap to fielder Mahedi Hasan who would have the honor of getting his first six-run strikes.

The opening scoring view of the game had also been six as Tamim Iqbal made Boult’s high cut over the back point, but it wasn’t long before the left-back won the competition with a classic set: after his defeat Iqbal with a late swing he made one holds his throwing line into Iqbal ‘s rods to gain the lbw.

Three balls later and Boult had a second when Soumya Sarker played a bad blow against a shorter delivery, grabbing a grip into the off side.

Liton Das proved to be good in challenging situations as he tried to promise either a full forward or a full back, but his hard work was not exhausted when he got a real start to mid- stage in the opening of Neesham.

The scoring level above three against a relentless attack on New Zealand has rarely been achieved. Kyle Jamieson, who struggled in the T20I series against Australia, went wicketless but at times Bangladesh could barely put a bat on him as he got a troublesome kick from a reasonable distance.

Rahim had played desperately to try and give his team some chance to build a base but became Neesham’s second wicket when he was short of space to play a cut and found a cry. That was the first of three wikis that fell for nine runs in six petals.

Bangladesh’s lanes were exacerbated when Mohammad Mithun was chased after him after a direct strike from Mahmudullah threw Neesham’s branch into the striker’s stumps. Mehidy Hasan then moved too far over his crest against Santner and the stump of his leg was amputated.

Mahedi’s first scoring stroke in ODIs was a whopping 94-meter six over a long period but with an attempt to make it four more goals later he caught a midfielder leaving Bangladesh seven down with 18 pitches. left over.

Madmudullah and Taskin Ahmed created a 10-over position although large parts of it were just alive before Madmudullah, trying to bring in some energy, took out a midwicket where Santner made his jump to perfect. Boult did the rest.
