11.00am: Early strike for India

India has won a prize for good early bowling with the removal of Joe Burns for duck. Jasprit Bumrah was particularly challenged with the new ball and found a thin edge from Burns in his third to make the Boxing Day ducks for the opener. There is a confident pace and demeanor in the park with signs that India can work hard. Matthew Wade has been looking very confident, dragging a couple of sweet drives through his side against Umesh Yadav.

10.15am: Remembering Deano

Here’s Dan Brettig from the MCG on how to honor one of Australia’s greatest greats

Obedience to Dean Jones involves many different dimensions during the Test. A full bay of MCG sets has been given to a large image of Jones, while viewers are encouraged to “sink up” in obedience to Jones ’habit of doing the same when he played . Jones ‘family will be in attendance at the MCG for the match, with a teatime video recommendation to take place at 3.24pm, recognizing Jones’ baggy green cap number and also his first-class highest score of 324 against Australia South in the day / night game of Sheffield Shield at the MCG in 1994-95.

10.05am: Australia bat first

The medal fell in Tim Paine’s favor and he was happy to bat first. Wonder of Ajinkya Rahane was glad he didn’t have to make the decision. If there is an early life, Jasprit Bumrah should be able to find it.

Here is a little more than another Indian debater Mohammed Siraj

9.50am: Park report

Damien Fleming, on Channel Seven, says there is 11mm of grass on this pitch. That might sound interesting to the skilful archers on both sides, but it ‘s definitely a first – day bat. It’s a clear, sunny, warm day. India needs to put that Adelaide batting performance behind them as soon as possible.

9.30am: Boxing Day at the G.

Welcome, everyone, to one of the landmarks on the cricket calendar: Boxing Day at the MCG. For a long time it seemed like this wasn’t going to happen so it’s good that the series has gotten here and we’ll have 30,000 viewers. Just to get back where we are in this tournament – India need to find a way to kick back from being folded out for their lowest Test score (36) in Adelaide a week ago. We already know that they have made four changes in an attempt to do so – two of which were implemented without Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami – but it will be a strong action. Australia are still without David Warner and have named an unchanged team. It’s not often you have tested both XIs 24 hours out of the game. The toss is half an hour away.

India will have two editors: Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj. If you want to find out more about Gill, a very talented bat, check out this piece below.
