The league games in the NBA gave us tonight (Sunday to Monday) a huge battle between two of the league’s glittering teams, however one incident in the closing seconds left many feeling a little sour. While the Nets had a two-point lead over the Clippers 8.1 seconds to go, a very borderline offense was whistled, which apparently decided the encounter – 108: 112 to Brooklyn at the end.

Tyrone Lou’s side have already seen the W on the horizon after Kwai Leonard was left one-on-one against James Harden but just before the star completed the layup the judging panel ruled that the forward had pushed Harden. Across the league they were not left indifferent to the borderline decision and the criticism came quickly. “What a bad decision, it was not a push offense at all,” the commentator tweeted, Skip Baileys. “Came to Kwai Basket and an offense to his credit that would have decided the game. The Clippers had to win.”

After the winds calmed down a bit, the Clippers star spoke at the press conference the same move, and it could be seen that he was still having a hard time making the decision. “I thought we would continue to play aggressive basketball at the end of the game. But the referees did not whistle in my favor so it was their good defense,” he explained Kwai Balconies before leaving Paul George alone in an interview.

The Clippers coach, Lou, did not want to talk too much about the same offense but unlike Kwai he expanded a little more on the subject. “The referees whistled about it so we have nothing to do about it,” the frustrated coach said. “I’m not one to complain a lot but one of the players’ hand was on Kwai before he pushed him. He said Harden held him but I did not see.”

Despite half the criticism should still be given respect to the Nets who recorded their sixth win in a row, in four of them they played without the injured Kevin Durant and in one Jeff Green was unfit. It seems that Steve Nash’s promising team is starting to connect and it is precisely the away games campaign against the pair of teams from Los Angeles and against the hot Phoenix that they are going through with great success.

The marvelous pair of guards, Harden and Kyrie Irving, once again made the difference and this time contributed 65 points in common along with 19 rebounds and 11 assists. Beyond that in the two meetings this season against the Clippers the superstars scored or were responsible for an assist for 23 points – 9 more than Lou’s entire team. Nash Complimented his players at the end and to his taste there is one key thing that defines the Nets’ success on the away trip: “Toughness. Against Detroit we were not aggressive enough and looked like a shadow of ourselves.”

And in a sharp transition to a team that has experienced less successful days – Minnesota (24: 7). The club officially announced tonight that Ryan Saunders, the team’s coach since the beginning of the season, has finished his career. Whoever is expected to replace him on the lines is Chris Finch, who worked with Gerson Rosas in the past in Houston where he was an assistant coach. The esteemed Finch has previously coached in England, Germany and Belgium, and at the age of 51 will for the first time get a chance to lead the NBA team.
