Razer features a new N95 front-facing concept with RGB lighting and Voice Amp Tech

At CES 2021 this week, game technology maker Razer unveiled a new concept design for a “smart mask” incorporating a surgical N95 respirator, RGB lighting, and voice amplification technology. The idea behind the smart mask, known as Project Hazel, is to both improve safety and solve some of the social problems that are part of wearing a face mask such as muffled voices and also make prevent waste by reusing it.

In particular, Project Hazel’s sleek mask is made of waterproof, abrasive, recyclable plastic with a tight seal made possible by the adjustable ear loops. The RGB light mentioned above allows over 16 million colors and dynamic lightning to illuminate the wearer’s mouth, and its cost box also incorporates dim UV light. -infection. And a built-in microphone can amplify the consumer’s voice. According to Razer, Project Hazel’s BFE Smart Pods can “filter at least 95% of airborne particles and have good filtration.”

Project Hazel is not the first time Razer has stepped in to support the response to COVID-19. You may remember that the company made headlines in early 2020 for changing manufacturing facilities to make medical masks for later delivery. Project Hazel seems to be the next step in Razer ‘s efforts, but as a conceptual design, there is no telling at this stage whether it will do marketing or the company’ s other efforts down the road.

“Razer acknowledges the uncertainty in the road ahead, so it was our duty to help protect members of our community and prepare them from invisible threats,” said Min-Liang Tan, co-founder and CEO of Razer, as part of what was announced by Project Hazel. “The concept of the Project Hazel smart mask is expected to be functional, yet comfortable and useful for interacting with the world, and at the same time maintaining a social image. “
