Ranbir Kapoor will take a story about PK Forward at Aamir Khan in Sequel, Says Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra

Aamir Khan’s acclaimed 2014 film, directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, will receive a sequel over time. The story ended with a scene of Ranbir Kapoor in the last scene, and the actor is reportedly the main character in the next installment.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra has said that a sequel will be made in due course and added that Ranbir ‘s character could advance the story, Midday reported.

“We’ll do the sequel. We had shown Ranbir near the end of the film, so there’s a story to be told. But Abhijat (Joshi) hasn’t written it yet. The day he writes, we’ll do it,” he said.

PK broke box office records when he was released in 2014. Also featuring Sanjay Dutt, Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput, the film showed Aamir as an alien who lies on Earth and loses the a device that helps him communicate with his spaceship.

The film took a scathing look at society and its religious beliefs, as the main protagonist from another planet revolves around questioning everything in the acquired Bhojpuri accent. The film was a Hirani-Chopra trade show production, both funny and thoughtful.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the third installment in their Munna Bhai franchise. The producer says it is driven by powerful stories of financial gain. “We’re not involved in making money, we’re involved in cinema-making. If we were making money (it was our goal), by this time, we have done six to seven (portions of) Munna Bhai, and two to three (editions of) PK. We will seek joy, happiness and peace over a few folds, “he said.
