Ramla is still perfect, a dramatic victory for Holon

The women’s team of Elitzur Holon tonight (Monday) defeated AS Ramat Hasharon 63:66 in a close game held as part of the 5th round of the Athena Wiener League for women in basketball. Shai Kelly excelled in the Holon uniform that will meet in the next round the undefeated Elitzur Neve David Ramla who maintained a perfect balance after a 52:99 victory in an away game against Maccabi Haifa. In other games: Hapoel Bnei Petah Tikva – Hapoel Rishon LeZion 56:73; Herzliya girls – Maccabi Raanana 80:89. In a game held yesterday, the women’s team of Maccabi Urban Ramat Gan defeated Maccabi Ben Banot Ashdod 68:78.

Elitzur Holon – AS Ramat Hasharon 63:66 (28:38)
Two minutes before the end of the game, Holon led 58:64 after two successful free throws by Shea Kelly. Jenny Sims and Jackie Young shrank to 64:63 with 10 seconds left. From here, two successful free throws by Sequoia Holmes gave Holon the victory.

Maccabi Haifa – Elitzur Neve David Ramla 99:52 (48:26)
Haifa came into the game without two of its strengthening players, Paris Kay and Britney Brewer. Elitzur Neve David Ramla came up with one goal – to continue the chain of victories and maintain a perfect balance. After the first quarter that ended at 7:27 for Ramla, the trend was completely clear. In the half, the scoreboard showed 26:48 to Ramla and in the end 52:99 to Ramla.

28 points by Kristin Simon, plus 11 rebounds, led Hapoel Bnei Petah Tikva to a 56:73 victory over Hapoel Rishon LeZion. Coach Gil Sela’s team opened with 7:17 and closed the first half at 26:38 with 14 points from Simon and 13 points from Jocelyn Willoughby against 13 from Eden Tsipel. In the second half, Rishon Lezion failed to stop Jocelyn Willoughby (21 points) and Kayla Simon (17 points, 11 rebounds).

Marina Maybri’s 30 points, 11 rebounds, 5 steals and 7 assists put Herzliya back on the winning track with 80:89 over Maccabi Raanana. Taylor Emery’s 23 points from Raanana were not enough.
