The sequel was scheduled for release last year, and even had its first appearance in New York City, but it soon became clear that it needed to be pushed. back because you know what.
It has been rescheduled several times, but this time it is being moved in the right direction – from 17 September to 28 May.
John Krasinski returns to the director’s chair and is actually appearing in the sequel as well, which might surprise you if you’ve seen the first film.
He’s also written the follow-up work, so it looks like the bloke can do it all.
Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe repeat their roles in the sequel, while none other than Cillian Murphy – aka Tommy Shelby – joins the team.
Djimon Hounsou, who gave an Oscar nominated show in Blood diamonds, also appears.
The official plot summary states: “After the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) now have to face the horrors of the outside world and they fight for survival in silence.
“By forcing them to enter the unknown, they will quickly realize that the creatures that hunt with sound are not the only dangers that lie beyond the path. sand. ”
Reveals a little more about the statement, Krasinski told Full Movie that the sequel sees Blunt’s character against him strongly understand that survival, rather than success, is the name of the game.

He said: “I really like the idea of the first one, that Emily and I were characters about living against success. All [my character] want to make it survive.
“And [her character] saying, ‘That is not enough. We are I need success. We must allow these children to be fully human creatures’.
“And after I leave, I’m really excited to see Emily fight with that – maybe survival is the way to go. And maybe this idea of success was too dangerous.”
