Night curfew on Purim: After the sights of the Purim celebrations and the harsh criticism of it, Israel has tonight entered some new strict restrictions. The full regulations approved by the government ministers:

1. Decision on night closure. Prohibition on leaving the place of residence from 20:30 to 5:00 the next morning. Except for permitted essential purposes, including leaving for permitted work, or leaving up to 1,000 meters from the place of residence. This prohibition will also apply to those staying in guest houses.

The following are the dates and hours when the closing of the night will take place:

– Thursday, 25.2, between 20:30 and 05:00 in the morning on Friday, 26.2.

– Friday, 26.2, from 20:30 to 05:00 in the morning on Saturday, 27.2.

– Saturday, 27.2, from 20:30 to 05:00 in the morning on Sunday, 28.2.

2. Prohibition on opening businesses during closing hours, except for essential businesses.

3. Prohibition of holding a party during closing hours (the imposition of this prohibition will also allow the imposition of a fine on the holder of a place where a party took place) and a prohibition on staying in another person’s home.

4. The fine for violating the closure or staying at another person’s home is NIS 500.

5. The regulations will not apply to a locality whose majority of residents are not Jews and in the East Jerusalem area.

The police will significantly increase surveillance and enforcement activities across the country and will work to enforce regulations and restrictions to protect public health as part of the national fight to curb the spread of the corona virus, in accordance with regulations and restrictions that will take effect tomorrow ahead of Purim. Starting Thursday evening and over the weekend, traffic department cops will deploy 24 checkpoints nationwide, which will operate from 8pm until morning each day (Thursday, Friday, Saturday). Public transportation will operate on a limited basis

Due to the new restrictions, the intercity lines will cease to operate tonight (Thursday) starting at 20:00, and will also not operate on Saturday evenings after 20:00. In addition, Israeli train stations throughout the country will close to passenger entry today at 20:00, and will reopen on Sunday morning, with the resumption of service. Urban public transport will continue to operate at 75% of the number of seats.

Tomorrow, public, urban and intercity transportation will continue to operate on a regular basis, but with a limited occupancy rate of 75% throughout the country.
