Prince Harry tells James Corden that his grandfather Philip slams his laptop shut down to stop Zoom calls

Prince Harry has revealed that his grandfather Prince Philip knows how to use Zoom – but simply slams shut down his laptop to end calls instead of pressing the Leave button.

The Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen have called the Sussexes ‘a few times’ and even seen Archie ‘running around’, Harry said.

His comments came as part of a wide-ranging conversation that took place mostly during an open bus tour in Los Angeles with James Corden, guest of The Late Late Show.

In one amazing moment Harry picks up the theme tune to The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air outside the mansion where it was filmed, before Corden’s video calls Meghan Markle, who calls her husband ‘Haz ‘.

The Duke of Sussex opened up to James about his relationship with Meghan, his son Archie and their decision to stop as face royals, saying the pressure of being in London was ‘destroying his mental health’, identifying British media as ‘poisonous’.

The rare TV interview was recorded before Prince Philip, 99, was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in London, where he is being treated for an infection and today begins on the 11th his day.

Responding to whether the Queen knows how to use Zoom, Prince Harry said: ‘Yes, both my grandparents do.

‘They’ve moved several times, they’ve seen Archie run around.

‘But my grandfather, instead of pushing for a leave of absence he’s just leaving [Harry pretends to close laptop].

‘I’m like a “bye” as I push – and it just goes away [imitates closing laptop]. ‘

Harry also revealed that Prince Philip and the Queen sent a waffle maker to Archie for Christmas.

He then described his son as ‘hysterical’, saying his first word was ‘crocodile’.

Harry was seen enjoying tea on the top deck of the open bus tour in Los Angeles. It also emerged that Prince Philip and the Queen sent their son Archie to make a waffle for Christmas.

Prince Philip had his last update at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday and said it was ‘comfortable’ and ‘responsive to treatment’.

His son Prince Edward has also said this week that Philip was ‘much better’ but ‘looking forward to finding out’ with the Royal Family holding their fingers across.

The Earl of Wessex thanked the benefactors for their messages of support as it was announced on Tuesday that Philip would be spending ‘several more days’ in hospital.

He was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in London last Tuesday afternoon as a precautionary measure after feeling unwell, and walked into the building unaided.

This is the longest time he spent in the hospital since June 2013 when he had examination work on her abdomen.

Philip’s 11th day in hospital after Harry’s interview was released, when he described the couple’s decision regarding royal face duties, said: ‘He never walked on go away. It was a step backwards rather than a step down.

‘It was a very difficult environment, which I think a lot of people saw. So I did what any father or spouse would do and I thought: “How can I get my family out of here”.

‘But we never walked away’.

During the interview before the Queen took away the Sussexes from their royal patrons last week, Harry says: ‘My life is a public service, so wherever in the world I am going to be the same.

‘As far as I’m concerned, no matter what decisions are made on that side [in Britain], I will never walk away. ‘
