The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s foundation has helped complete the Commonwealth emergency relief center
LOS ANGELES – The Duke and Duchess of Sussex foundation has helped complete a Commonwealth emergency relief center.
World Central Kitchen announced Wednesday that the construction of Dominica’s first community relief center is complete. The joint venture with the nonprofit Prince Harry and Meghan Archewell Foundation aims to develop a series of four relief centers in regions of the world prone to climate catastrophes.
The finished facility has installed kitchen equipment using solar power. It is ready for school staff to cook for students and the community.
A cookery training program is expected to be launched this year. The program will help the skills of chefs to cook and feed large numbers of people in an emergency.
Archewell and World Central Kitchen announced a philanthropy alliance in December. With the financial support of Archewell, both groups hope to feed people in disaster-stricken areas around the world.
Last week, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Harry and Meghan would not be returning to royal duties. The couple’s separation from the royal family came after Harry resigned from his honorary military duties.
