PlayStation removes Windows from Trailer featuring upcoming PS5 Games

Earlier this week during CES 2021, Sony released a new trailer around the PlayStation 5 that showcased several different slate titles to come to the platform in the future. At the end of the trailer, some neat prints were shown that featured specific release windows for several of these games giving us a better idea of when they will arrive. Now, it looks like Sony has reviewed this trailer and they have deleted these release windows for one reason or another.

A new version of this PlayStation CES 2021 video was uploaded to Sony’s YouTube channel today and the release windows for games like Ghostwire Tokyo, Kena: Bridge of spirits, Pragmata, and The Athia Project now gone. The trailer itself still features clips from each of these games but the accompanying release windows are no longer present. Instead, the same dates were mentioned at the trailer’s decision for Sony’s first-party notifications that include Return, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Forbidden West Horizon.

It is difficult to know what should be made of this whole situation at this time. Did Sony happen to release legitimate release windows in the original version of this video, or were those dates wrong? It is worth noting that developers and publishers for the above games remained silent after the first show at CES, meaning that none of the windows were confirmed by those direct parties .

However, Sony is definitely immersed in what its partners are working on and has an idea of what ‘s going on behind the scenes. So I tend to believe that the release windows that appeared in the first flight of the video were all valid. Of course, we won’t know for sure if this is true until it’s further down the line but I have to think that the final finish dates we hear won’t be far from those windows we’ve seen any early in the week.

If we hear more about this whole situation soon, we will definitely keep you posted. Until then, you can continue following our broadcast on the PlayStation 5 here.

So what do you think of this whole situation? Are the shared release windows valid, or did Sony goof? Give me your comments either down in the comments or over on Twitter at @ MooreMan12.
