HEAD: PlayStation Network, also known as PSN, is down on PS4 and PS5. At the time of this writing, servers went down minutes ago, and now all PlayStation platforms are affected as are all other connected services, such as PlayStation Plus. The news was first shared by the officer Fortnite Twitter status account after players started reporting en masse they were unable to get to the free-to-play battle royale game on PlayStation platforms. Since then, the official PlayStation Status website has confirmed that all aspects of PSN, the PlayStation Video bar, are either down or experiencing issues.
At the time of publication, it is not clear which areas are affected. Further, it is not clear how long PlayStation players should expect services to be down. That said, while services are down, PlayStation gamers will be limited to offline and single-player games.
Not only is it unclear how widespread the wear is and when a solution will be released, but it is not clear what is causing the issue in the first place. When PSN and other similar services like Xbox Live Gold go down, it’s usually due to overcrowding, which means servers usually have issues on the weekends. when everyone is playing.
PlayStation Network is currently experiencing a crash. As PlayStation works to resolve this issue, you can keep up to date with the status here: https://t.co/rNAFmWENN3

At the time of publication, details of the proceedings are scarce. That said, we’ll be sure to update the story as new and official details come in. Sony is usually quick to fix bugs like this, but there have been times where PSN has gone down and stayed down for hours. In other words, be willing to wait until tomorrow maybe to get to PlayStation Network.
