Rory McIlroy looks forward to another cherry bite at TPC Sawgrass
Jimmy Fallon, guest of The Tonight Show in the United States, has presented something at players ‘press conferences ahead of the Players’ Tournament over the past two years.
An NBC talk show presenter has asked a number of gamers to admit weird phrases to their interviews and it looks like they were at it again at TPC Sawgrass on Tuesday.
Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas and Dustin Johnson were among those who sent ‘Drop It In’ when speaking to the media.
McIlroy, the defending champion after winning in 2019, went first and was quick to talk about “another bite at the cherry” this year.
Thomas was next and when he talked about the state of his game he included the phrase “you know, at the end of the day I’m like an iPod Nano; I’m just dating”.

Bryson DeChambeau was asked about his symptoms after last week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational win and described drinking chocolate milk and eating Arnold Palmer gummies as “like frozen tea and lemonade gummies”.

Dustin Johnson says he never jumped on the dip!
If those weird phrases failed to indicate that something strange was going on, Johnson certainly took the game away when asked if his lifestyle had changed after he get past Covid.
“I was never used to jumping on the dip,” was his sad response at the time.

Fallon started the running joke in 2019 when Tiger Woods came out with the phrase “Tony Danza in the stand-a”.
Adam Scott said he and his wife went to a Reba McEntire concert, Justin Rose called him a “teddy”, and Tommy Fleetwood made a weird mention of catfish and McIlroy loved the bread rugs!
