Perugia – Music – with an audience and keeping your distance: this is how the 2021 Eurovision will be held

The European Broadcasting Union has officially announced that it has decided to hold the Eurovision Song Contest in outline B (one of four outlines planned) in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

More on Perugi’s music channel:

What does this actually mean?

The Eurovision Song Contest will be held with an audience and a distance of one and a half meters, all nine performances will take place in the arena, but those present will maintain a distance of 1.5 meters. This means that occupancy will be limited to allow for the distance, and the number of tickets sold will decrease.

And in any case: the delegations will record backup in advance. Each delegation will record its own song ahead of time and transfer the recording to the European Broadcasting Union, in case of a last-minute increase in morbidity, or identification of patients in the delegation upon arrival in Rotterdam.

In addition, according to outline B published in the past, the municipal Eurovision events in Rotterdam will be reduced. The city will be able to reach 500 journalists, and another 1,000 journalists will “work remotely” at a virtual press center.

As you may recall, the last Eurovision to operate in the regular format is the 2019 Eurovision that took place in Israel. Last year it was decided to cancel the competition and it was replaced by a special transmitter in the Eurovision atmosphere. This year, as last year, the Israeli representative for the competition is Eden Elena who will perform “Set Me Free”.
