Perugi – Style – Fashion for Everyone: Overview of Milan Men’s Fashion Week

This week saw one of the major events in the fashion world. This year, like everything else, the fashion world also faced huge difficulties so the world’s biggest fashion events were in question, including Milan Fashion Week and especially Men’s Week where the main goal is to focus on new collections and refreshing designs of men’s fashion, which in 2021 still gets Much less focus than female fashion.

More on Perugi’s fashion channel:

So while we have all been getting used to doing things a little differently in the last year, it is not surprising that even one of the most significant milestones in the fashion world has been broadcast in a virtual format, and it can certainly be said that the result was surprising.

The virtual arena brought together the old and esteemed brands like “Prada”, “Fendi”, the Italian fashion house “Keaton”, “TOD’S” and other well-known fashion houses, along with new fashion houses and brands in the landscape that turned out to be surprising. Just as Fashion Week was in Milan, the presence of Italian brands stood out, alongside those around the world.

What mostly caught our eye were the means that replaced the fashion shows, as instead of a runway and audience on the sides, many of the shows were artistically presented through videos, short films, and models marching in different backgrounds and spaces so fashion houses had to reinvent themselves, think outside the box and get out Within the boundaries of the familiar route.

One of the most successful shows was the show of the Prada fashion house. Presented a new and refreshing men’s collection based on bright colors, with the leading colors being purple, fuchsia pink, yellow, green, orange. There were more – shirts and knitwear with colorful and surprising prints, accessories and classic items and a combination of bright and vivid colors on the items and the classic style associated with the fashion house. Among the items on display were blazer jackets, custom-made pants, sweaters and turtle collars. There was a real celebration.

Another landmark that was very unique to the collection was the emphasis on leather gloves, also in dominant colors, which made us get mad at the Israeli winter and the closure, which does not really require them. Apart from the dominant collection, the display space was even more prominent, consisting of several rooms with different spaces in different colors and textures that corresponded charmingly and harmoniously with the clothes. Despite the fashion celebration, we could not ignore the fact that the course of the show was a bit monotonous, and the models all demonstrated thinness that hardly in 2021 represents the beauty model, which is definitely a point for thought.

Another display of a well-known fashion house was the display of “Fendi”. The colors were kept in off-white shades, and dark shades of green, burgundy and blue and sometimes wound up more crazy shades. The innovations were mainly in fabrics and textures: nylon, flannel, wool, and a combination of fabrics that usually do not fit into items. A prominent example of this was a coat fabric for pants. Another very prominent element in the display, was the combination and emphasis also on accessories, especially small handbags, something we were not used to seeing in men’s displays and was a very refreshing and fun innovation. The showroom was interesting and made up of neon frames and lights, and the models were very diverse but again, the choices did not really serve the beauty model and in that respect we expected more.

A lesser-known brand in the landscape that has definitely caught our eye and for us is considered the rising star of the show is CHILDREN OF THE DISORDANCE, a fairly new brand established in 2011 and based on the fashionable and musical choices of the 90s. From the first second of the show that looked more like a clip, one sees the brand’s special approach, which of course continues with the unique fashion items in the landscape with a combination of items and fabrics with volume and an emphasis on the material.

It was certainly possible to see that some brands took advantage of the platform to get out of the box and the boundaries of the familiar and presented themselves in an amazing and creative way, and some found it hard to break free from the regular runway, but it was fun to see the innovations in masculine fashion. And by and large, even though the shows were shorter than usual, it was very fun to see how an event of this magnitude was translated into the virtual stage.
