Perugi – Music – Album Review: Justin Bieber wants to open a new page

Justin Bieber is no longer a child, he is married and only a few weeks ago celebrated his 27th birthday, and his adolescence is also felt through his music. The change started as early as last year when he released his album “Changes”, after five years of not hearing from him. Last Friday he released his sixth album “Justice” which has about 16 songs. In the album message he wrote: “I know I can not solve all the problems in the world but I know that if we all use our talents to serve the world and each other then the world will be a better place. This album is the little part I do to help with that”, And really lucky he uses his talent because this album is amazing.

More on Perugi’s music channel:

The album opens with a quote from Martin Luther King who fights for justice and equal rights for blacks in the US. In the segment he says: “Injustice somewhere is a threat to justice everywhere”, then the first song “2much” begins. Sings that he is afraid of missing special moments with his wife and that he wants to live forever with his wife Haley. The next song is “deserve you” which is a more rhythmic song than his predecessor, in which Justin feels he does not deserve to be loved because of his past actions. The song is about the action with Khalid “As I am”. The song is about the singer wanting him to be accepted despite who he was in the past.

The album continues with the song “off my face” which is a calm and moving love song for Haley in which Justin sings how much he is in love with Haley and how she influenced him for good. Then comes the well-known hit “holy” in collaboration with the rapper Chance. A positive song that we are all already familiar with, that talks about thanking the good things in our lives. The next song is one of our favorites on the album, and it’s called “unstable” – a collaboration with young rapper Kid Leroy. In the song Justin thanks Haley for loving him even when he was broken and in an unstable state. He thanks her mostly for not abandoning him.

Immediately after that comes another one-minute excerpt from a Martin Luther King speech that says a person must find something he is so devoted to that he is willing to die for it. He says the fight against injustice against blacks is the thing for which he is willing to give his life. He claims that a person should not be afraid to fight for something that is false in his eyes and if he does not do so then he has no purpose in life. This section connects to the next song “Die for you” which is a rhythmic and fun song and also a bit addictive. The song is a collaboration with Dominic Pike and talks about Justin being so dedicated to Haley that he is willing to give up his life for her, and equally, Justin says she is the person he is willing to fight for.

The next two songs communicate with each other and have the same theme. The first is “Hold on” a song that Justin released a few weeks ago and has already become a hit. In the song Justin offers his help to a struggling person and says that as one who has already gone through the difficulty in the past – now he can help. Also in the next song “somebody” Justin says that every person needs someone to help him in the difficult moments and here too he offers his help.

The next song “ghost” talks about a different theme than the rest of the album because it deals with longing for a deceased person who even though he is no longer with us then it is still possible to cling to our memories with him. Then comes a completely different song from what we have heard so far on the album. The song “peaches” which is also a collaboration with Giveon and Daniel Casser. He’s much more rhythmic than his predecessors and is in hip hop and rap style. The song mentions the state of Georgia who is identified with Martin Luther King. Then comes the song “love you different” in collaboration with Bim. The song talks about him loving Haley differently than the other girls. This song is special because it has a hint that Justin is ready for fatherhood and so he also sings: “I will treat you like a mother, let’s make babies.” I wonder if Haley is also interested and absorbed the hint.

The next song is “loved by you” which is a collaboration with Borna and made us wonder who the song was written about. In the song Justin fights to get love and attention. One might think the song might be about Haley but in our opinion the song is about the love from the audience, that he is trying to prove to the world that he has changed and that he feels that no matter what he does today he will always be considered the bad boy in front of the media. There is a sentence in the song that proves his claim and it is “I wish I could change myself”.

The last two songs are songs that have already become hits. The first is “anyone”, a song that talks about his love for Haley and that she is the only one he will love and also in this song he mentions his past in the sentence “If I look at my past my only good choice”. And the song that ends the album is “lonely,” which is especially exciting in a collaboration with Benny Blanco in which Justin reveals that he felt alone during the difficult times in his life and reveals the difficulty of publishing at a young age. This song is the perfect song to sign the album because for the whole time he mentions his past and at the end of the album he really only talks about it and the difficulty in it so it is a perfect signature.

The album has many stunning songs that express the change, the maturation process he went through, the remorse in his heart, and the desire to move on to a better future as a better person. The use of Martin Luther King’s tracks really reinforces the overall theme of the album because Martin is a man who has dedicated his entire life to justice for himself and millions more. The album is called “justice” which is justice in Hebrew but it seems that mostly Justin is asking for justice for himself from the audience. In many of the songs he mentions his past and the mistakes he made and regrets them, he describes the change he went through and he offers his help to people who are having a hard time, he also thanks the audience that was with him in hard times and did not abandon him. The song “lonely” which describes to us what he had to deal with and the difficulty of publishing at a young age. Basically this whole album was created out of a desire to open a whole new page with the audience and we totally connect with it and are willing to forgive it.
