Gilboa / Galil players celebrate (Itzik Blanitzky)
Hapoel Gilboa / Galil opened the home stage tonight (Monday) with a 53:88 victory in Gan Ner against Bulgarian Broa. The team will meet TFT Skopje from northern Macedonia on Thursday for the second game of the home stage, at the end of which the newcomers will be determined for the next stage.
The game opened with good minutes from Broa who went up to 4:11. A good defense by Avishai Gordon’s players stopped the Bulgarians on a single-digit number of points in the second and third quarters, all the way to a huge 31:63 advantage at the end of three quarters. Gilboa’s control continued in the last quarter which was actually Garbage Time until it secured the big win.
