Gerwyn Price won his virgin PDC World Darts Championship title with a 7-2 victory over Gary Anderson at Alexandra Palace
Gerwyn Price put on a show worthy of the new world of darts No 1 to beat Gary Anderson 7-3, claim his first World Darts Championship title and end Michael’s reign. van Gerwen tops the sport’s ranking.
After entering the tournament 19 days ago as the man with the most titles on the tour this year, Price added to the majority of the lottery with a revealing impact. an average of 100.08, 13 180s and three 100+ completions.
The 35-year-old Markham man in south Wales went through the early exchanges and missed nine darts maids for a 7-2 victory as his previous impressive finish show – which had sat at 75 per cent for times – he abandoned it when he needed it most.
However, Price stood up and finally, with his 12th match of the match, grabbed the outer ring, doubling down to five and then on his knees to draw a sigh of great relief while claiming the title and much more.
Along with winning the inaugural £ 500,000 prize, Price – a rugby league player and rugby union less than 10 years ago – ended Van Gerwen’s seven-year rule as world No. 1 and was denied a chance. allow Anderson to join the renowned band of players who have won three world titles.

Seven years on from winning his Tourcard at Q school, and playing in his first World Championship final, the Iceman is the fifth Welshman to be crowned world darts champion but first Sid Waddell prestigious award winner He is also the first Q-School graduate to become a world champion.
