Indiana rookie Pacers Cassius Stanley, who is on a two-way deal, has signed a shoe support deal with PUMA, the clothing company announced Saturday.
Stanley, who will take part in Sunday’s Slam Dunk Tournament at NBA All-Star 2021, will wear PUMA throughout the event. Stanley joins LaMelo Ball as the only other rookie from this year ‘s class draft to sign with PUMA.
Pacers ’selection in the second round is the first player to be signed to a two-way contract to play in the Dunk Slam Championship. He has played strenuously this season with the Pacers, appearing in just eight games, and recently returned from a NBA G League designation.
In 12 games with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Stanley averaged 12.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists.
Stanley recorded the just 44-inch jump at last year’s preseason test, which was the third-highest ever. Because of his high flying ability, Stanley will come in Sunday as their favorite (-125) to win, according to BetMGM.
As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, all All-Star events will be held on Sunday with the Skills Challenge and 3-Point Competition skipping action at 6:30 pm EST. The Slam Dunk Tournament will be held at halftime of the All-Star Game.
TNT coverage of All-Star 2021 will begin at 5pm EST.
